Whether we like to admit it or not our generation highly looks up to those in spotlight as role models. We have a good tendency to play follow the leader and somehow the role of the leader makes its way to celebrities quite often.
Celebrities are constantly plastered in the news and keep public relations specialists on their toes. Although this is a part of their career, the way that they want to be remembered can be up to them. Through the eyes of Katie Holmes we are told that there is way more to life than having your name in lights and on the big screen.
Katie is commonly known for her roles in Dawson’s Creek and Batman Begins. However Katie was recently interviewed on Modern Luxury and explained that although she loves her job entertainment isn’t her entire life. Katie is a successful actress and new director but she is also a mother to a ten year old daughter, Suri.
The world of fame and fortune can be blinding. And although working in the world of public relations is basically about building reputation and showing the best of things, it doesn’t always reveal any hidden or secret happiness that comes from fame. Katie Holmes shares her heart that her number one job in her life is being a mom. And it was through her daughter that she is able to know herself better. She takes her role as being a mother as top priority and everything else flows from that. “It’s really important for me to be a mom that is dependable,” Katie explains. Katie even sets herself a “mom curfew” to remind herself that it’s time to go home and be with her family.
There is so much more to life than what meets the eye. Coming from a personal perspective- I like to reveal the truth and speak from the heart. Whenever you are trying to find a story and tell it make sure you collect all of the missing pieces and not only a few of them. I find the entertainment world very engaging and interesting but there is more than what meets the eye.
Jim Carrey once said “I think that everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it’s not the answer.”
